Instructor Information | Eleni Halkiotis Lema, MOT, OTR/L, ATP/SMS has been practicing occupational therapy since 2005 upon graduating from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Eleni’s seating and wheeled mobility practice began in 2009 in the Bellevue Hospital wheelchair clinic in New York City (NYC). Eleni further developed her seating and mobility specialization at NYC’s Independence Care System (ICS), serving as the primary therapist for the multiple sclerosis team from 2010‑2018. Eleni has participated in clinical research in multiple practice settings on topics including the Functional Mobility Assessment (FMA). Eleni has presented professionally in English and Spanish at conferences in North and South America, the Caribbean, Europe, and Africa. Eleni was elected and served as Chair of the RESNA International Special Interest Group for the 2020‑2022 term. Eleni joined the Permobil Academy in 2019 and is Permobil’s Regional Clinical Education Manager for the New York Metro Area, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, West Virgina, South Florida, and Latin America. |
